I recently purchased a raw 1916 D Mercury dime. I'm looking to get another's opinion. I just sent it to get it graded. This is the first coin I've sent off. Please let me know your opinions of the coin. I know there are scratches and damage to the coin.

I can't tell the date or mint mark, and only hope you didn't pay much for it, even if it is genuine, it would grade detail.

It probably has too much damage to come back with a grade, but you might get it authenticated. I can't see a date or a distinctive mint-mark. Can you get your money back if necessary?

Thanks for the help so far. I didn't pay too much for the coin. It's probably too late to get my money back. If it comes back as fake or illegible mintmark or date, I'll just keep it as a filler for my collection until I get a real one or one that you can make out a date and mintmark.
