AU-50. Could use a Verdi-Care treatment.
Rest in Peace

It's a fairly recent slab so it should be a 97 code - ED.

Solid XF45, could push AU50. I normally dont disagree with Dave but I dont see a code 97 on this one.

I am curious why most of the opinions seem to be higher than mine.
I primarily based my opinion off the condition of the stars. Worn to the point where the lines are practically indescernable.
Is there a known weak strike issue with the large cents that would justify an AU grade despite my observation?

I generally don't use the stars as a grading point, much like on the Seated Liberty silver issues. There are a couple of proposed AU grades here, but most seem to be in the "solid EF" range, which I feel is correct given clear wear on the lower hair curl and all raised hair strands above the ear, among other things.

The first place I look on these in high grade is the ear and hair curls above the ear. Next place is eye brow and hair curl on shoulder.

This is one I didn't buy as I didn't feel it should have gotten a straight grade from PCGS.

Yeah it is definitely the hair on the obverse, the crown tip and the eyebrow as key indicators.
