You can get them from these guys for only $400 for 5 = $80 each. I'm sure they sprinkle magic dust on them to make them extra special in order to get 45% more than the mint charges.

Pretty sure the coin sellers on TV will be flooding the airwaves with these very soon. I can already hear their hype.

People are already getting around those prices on ebay for the sets right now. I know Modern Coin Mart have been dishing them out for around 66.99 or something like that and they have been selling.

I've sold things on ebay that I was still able to buy for half the price from the manufacturer/distributer online. Some people either don't know or don't care where to get some things cheaper.

Can't wait to see Mike Mezak from HSN pitch these. I like to hear the outlandish hype he gives all the coins they sell.

I'll watch the coin vault from time to time, but I have never seen a good deal on there. With the internet at everyone's fingertips why would anyone buy from these people?

It's more than price, a lot of people simply don't wan't to deal with the mint. I pretty much avoid them if possible now as well from quality issues with them in the past.

Paying a few more on ebay is much easier if you have to return something and you get free shipping ect. But the most important thing to consider is that just because the sale was higher didn't mean they paid more. ebay gives out cupons, ebay bucks, specials to earn extra ebay bucks ect, there are quite a few ways you can have a higher ebay sale price but actually pay less

...The Mint also pays for return shipping

...most, if not all, ebay % off coupons do not apply to coins..eBay bucks work but you have to have had a significant amount of purchases to get a decent amount.

...it just makes more sense to me to get a product from the original source rather than worry about getting someone's rejects.

...guess it comes down to personal preferrences

90% of the ebay coupons I have gotten just excluded bullion (even then just gotta know which categories to look in) so I agree if I had those sort of things it would make buying them a reasonable alternative option.

They still owe me from 2014 returns. Gave up trying after 3 different supervisors said they would send a check.

Yes and no. ebay cupons are user specific. Just because your or I gets a coupon doesn't mean someone else got the same, and the majority can be used with certain sellers for coins. If you haven't noticed ebay seems to like to give coupons for things you don't regularly buy anyway.

So? Plenty of people have plenty of ebay bucks.

There's about a 0 percent chance returns haven't been reshipped by the mint on the super popular sell outs. I would bet money several of my baseball commemorative orders were fullfilled with returned on more then one occasion.

You can actually pick your product on ebay not just hope you get a good one from the mint.

Not really trying to do a back and forth but I have returned two items over the last three years to the Mint. They always send a RMA pre-paid shipping label within 24 hours. Whole process is done on the website. No need for reimbursement anymore.

It all comes down to buying from whomever you choose. For still available items I will choose the Mint...you will choose ebay or a private seller. I get it...no problemo
