Cane across this Buffalo nickel and looks to have two mint marks put together. Can anyone shine some light on what's going on with this mint mark ? Thanks in advanced

Guessing the lower half of the MM took a hit and got squashed.

Looks like the bottom of the F and the S took the same hit.
It didn't leave the mint that way so it's PMD

Yep, it's Post Strike Damage. The mint mark looks like it took a hard hit.
