1857 Fe Counterfeit? - Coin Community Forum

ZenFE99 Valued Member United States 150 Posts	Posted 06/28/2018 1:41 pm Was curious if this was a counterfeit: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1857-XF-AU...AOSwkE9bNQmn I'm familiar with the 'missing detail' Chinese fake, and just added one to my collection, but I think this is another, slightly better one. What I notice: Overall mushy everything Grainy appearance Top of 'N' in ONE is almost gone (I believe is a marker of this fake) Obverse rim looks wrong/too thin What do ya'll think? Side question - what happened to the forum where we could report fakes/counterfeits? Does it have restricted access? I hunt for 1857 FEC constantly, and find plenty fakes, but I feel MY reporting to ebay does nothing. Just curious. Report this Post to the Staff
