Came across this Jefferson nickel and would like to know if the doubling that I am seeing is considered a double die error. All info is appreciated

It is not a DDR.

The over sized distorted devices are indicative of a very late die state and result of a Die Fatigue.

It's in a Very Late Die State with heavy die wear. The die was getting close to retirement soon.

It just suffers from "Illness and Fatigue"... in other words, it's just Sick and tired of being used!
