I am so happy to have this coin because I have never seen this and know nothing about this One dollar silver. My Boss said he will find for me a silver penny also and it is somewhere in his house I hope he will find it. Good man, 14 years workin with him. I will look at the coin more closely to nite when I come home

Nice for free. 96 is the lowest mintage ASE (not including proofs). I'de give it an acetone soak then put it in a plastic airtite and hopefully it will stop that ugly black toning..

Bate, I agree with Mark. Try doing an Acetone soak. Only use 100% Acetone only on coins. That should help quite a bit with that tarnish.

It won't get rid of the toning but it will clean it up a little if it has recent oils on it from a wrong type of handling. Then rinse with distilled water and lightly pat dry with a very soft absorbent cloth - then the airtite - at least put it in a 2X2
