I recently purchased a box of foreign coins. I have only just started to go through them. I found a 196? Cinco Centavo coin the final digit for the date is just simply not there. Looks like it never was. What do You think?
You might think there was a failure to add the last digit to the die, but I think it's more likely that it was Struck Through Grease. If so, this constitutes an "error" of sorts but also an occurrence common enough that I doubt there'd be a substantial premium.
