1990 D Quarter Missing Clad

Found 1990 quarter with no clad except a small spot. I thought that it was put in acid but when I weighed it it was 5.6.

Looks like a metal detector find. Note the light and dark color. If it were missing the cladding it would all be one color:

Also the strike would be weakened on a quarter:

Carry it in your pocket for a time and watch it will turn back silver in color.

I found it at the laundry mat. What about the spot on it?

more than likely a stain from something. Only the person who tortured this coin knows for sure. Carry it in your pocket and you will see what will happen. The higher devices will turn silver first, then the fields will darken and look antiqued.
