I am curious to know if this is actually a 1944 D/S Lincoln Cent.

Going to need clearer pictures if possible, but from these images doesn't look like it. Nothing to the north and nothing to the west.

To my eye this is neither of the two well-know varieties of the D/S for this year.

Can't tell. Better pictures will be needed to tell. Your coin looks like it was plated.

The coin looks plated. Pretty much ruined if it is.
