Ten days left in the bat season but made a quick stop home. Figured I should post something since I have access to internet and all. This is a neat variety where the doubling of the steps makes it looks like Lincoln is sitting on steps. Worth looking for when you are after those WAMs.

Hey LuvymyCAM! Bears didn't get me yet but they will get another chance as I have to go back out on Monday until the end of bat season. That THING is a pretty darn cool one and you can't have it! First one I've come across and looked at a lot of 1998 reverses. Sounds like you scored one of the 22 no D's that you were after and I'll have to find your post. And... I struggled a bit to find your current address but found it and got your coin packaged up tonight and it'll be in the mail on Monday. Should have it by the end of the week or earlier. We can compare 2012's when I get back but little time for taking pics right now.

Coop, thanks for putting up that side-by-side. Really shows what's going on with this one.

That is so cool - really nice find.

What do you do with Bat Season? I was just walking my dog and actually one squeaked a couple of times while flying by.

OK, now I have a question. This is a doubled die. We have an overlay. It was formed the Class 9 way. Hub was tilted in an incorrect position, then snaps into the correct location. Creating the DDR in the center. Why does only the center show the hub doubling?

How's it going CoinCents! Hope things are well. Mods not too excited about non-coin stuff here so just send me a PM and I can fill you in.

The die blank is slightly cone shaped, so the center of the coin is where the first impression is made. The die snapped into the correct location before any other part of the blank was touched. That's my understanding of it.

Also I really like this DDR, I'm hoping to find one of these soon!
