Hello everyone I'm new here and have about a million questions like should you clean a coin and if so how and if not why...besides the Cherry Pickers Guide where can I find answers to my insane questions at 3 a.m.? (Besides here :))

also what can I do to determine if my coins have damage from accidental tarnishing or a mint error that looks the same? I want to collect everything but I know for sure I'm a guppie in an ocean aka in over my head. How can I inherit a coin collection? Haha many many questions thanks for all your future help and sorry if I become annoying but I need someone to learn me.

There are several topics on this. The basic answer on cleaning, is no, it lowers the value if not done properly.
If the coin has grease or glue or gunk on it, you can try soaking it in pure acetone, followed by a rinse of distilled water and carefully pat dry with a cotton cloth. Only hold coin by the rim, oils from your fingers can ruin a coin.
