Royal Canadian Mint - To mark the centennial of the Armistice of 1918, designed by artist Kerri Weller, your 99.99% gold coin combines two of the most powerful, evocative symbols of sacrifice and remembrance. A slightly stylized Papaver rhoeas blooms at the centre of the selectively coloured design, where a subtle translucence allows the coin's gold surface to radiate light from within the crimson-tinted petals. Engraved around this central poppy are four additional poppy blooms and a bud; together, the six poppies represent the six continents that were involved in the First World War (1914-1918). Three leaves complete the swirling floral arrangement, whose motion alludes to the maelstrom of war, while a multitude of grave markers help convey the magnitude of the loss of life during the four-year conflict. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.

Compared to a bullion Maple, the NCLT premium is 1.8x This is reasonable for a relatively limited mintage (350) coin with proof quality and painted artifacts.

Gold NCLT from the RCM is not a bad value, fairly consistently between 1.6x and 1.8x bullion equivalent. Silver NCLT carries a much higher premium multiple... typically around 5x and higher for issues with mintages in the thousands. After a few years in the market, most Silver NCLT trends down to a value between 1x & 2x bullion equivalent.

I like this coin however for the amount of money, I really need to see it in hand. The RCM site usually only has rendered images and they can be quite different.
