Not a Doubled Die Obverse. It's Machine Doubling, since the devices are reduced in size, and it's shelflike (flat) in appearance. Machine Doubling reduces the size of the devices, while genuine Doubled Dies will increase the size of the devices. http://www.error-ref.com/machine-doubling/

Gonna go with Md on this. It all seems like it has a "shelf like appearance" to it. No added value. Very common on alot of my 69's also.

Very common to find Machine Doubling on the 1968-1972 cents. On the 1969-S DDO-001, most have Machine Doubling on them as well.

Thank you for posting that picture! You see how the doubling is shelflike (flat) in appearance? That's because during the strike, the die bounced off a little bit. That's a definite sign of Machine Doubling.

I see what your saying with the S. What about the B? I can see how this would apply to the side of it but what about the part going through the top and bottom hole of the letter?

It's the same thing as well with that picture. It's also Machine Doubling.

That's a great idea! Save it for future reference use. Keep up the search, and post any coins that you have questions about. We will gladly answer your questions. :-)

Jessiescorpio,
FYI: I think you mean a RPM on the mint mark not a DD-doubled die yes? Your coin is MD and does not have a RPM.

It is MD, not a doubled die or RPM.
