Confused About My 1983 P Quarter - Coin Community Forum

SilverCents Pillar of the Community United States 3281 Posts	Posted 08/09/2018 4:06 pm So basically I've read some reports saying a 1983 P Quarter sold for around 2k and they would not say why. I've checked other websites and they have said other things. Is it an error? Idk but could someone please tell me what is so special about this coin? Report this Post to the Staff

Waynoah83 Pillar of the Community 586 Posts	Posted 08/09/2018 6:36 pm There was a very low mintage of 83's from both mints which also coencided with the Arcade craze during the 80's along with payphones, parking meters etc. so it's very hard to find them in high grade. A MS-67 is a pretty high grade for any coin let alone one that there wasn't a lot of to begin with and which was in use during this time period. Report this Post to the Staff
