1945 P Penny DD And Other Questions

Looking at the date area as a whole, it looks like they may have been a struck through ragged debris during the strike. Note the last digit? The field and the fields looks like something peeled away from the coin. LIBERTY looks more like PSD. (But we should be covering these extra questions on a separate thread) If someone was tying to find this conversation about a 1961-D coin, they would not think of looking for it on a 1945 wheat discussion thread. So we have wondered off this path a bit too much. (but always glad to answer questions, just under the right thread title)
