Not sure if this is the same bank, but a search turned up International Bank at 1818 H St Nw, Washington, DC 20006 but apparently its a private company now and part of the World Bank.

All I could find about it was located in the newspaper Archives for 1982 of The New York Times. It's a quarterly earnings report for 1981 for International Bank (Washington, DC).

Link: https://www.nytimes.com/1982/03/13/...-dec-31.html

My assumptions are as follows:

1. International Bank (Washington, DC) began operations in 1920 and continued operations under the same name until at least 1982.

2. Bretton Woods Conference took place in 1944 establishing the IBRD and the IMF. The two entities became operational in 1946. Not until after 1950 were two additional banking entities created that, along with the IBRD and the IMF, eventually formed the World Bank Group. At no time is the International Bank (Washington, DC) referenced.

3. http://www.mapquest.com amazingly has two different addresses for 'International Bank'.

International Bank
1850 H St NW,
Washington, DC 20006
(202) 458-0358

and

International Bank
181 H St NW,
Washington, DC 20433
(202) 473-5195

4. Using Google Street View and Google Earth extensively I was unable to locate a building in the general vicinity that resembles the building depicted on the medal. Building must of been torn down.

5. I am not a brain surgeon, or anything like that, but I'm pretty sure 1920 came before 1944.

Food for thought.

Very interesting.

It is also a good reason why your business name should never be so generic.
