A friend asked me to help her with 2 Morgan dollars that she was given by her sister before she past. She wanted to know if they were worth anything or should she just sell them. I told her not to take them to just any coin shop without letting me ask my new friends here in Coin Community. What are your thoughts? Coin 2 All help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for looking. I didn't know a whole lot on the Morgan's (including where the mint mark was) until reading VAM. I knew they were out there but havent seen 1 in person. Which was pretty awesome to see no matter on grade. I pretty much have been researching Lincoln's wheat to current. Figuring it was a good place to start without spending a fortune.

Yes. Morgans are nice to collect, there are some dates in BU that aren't expensive. The common dates in BU run from $25 - $40. Lincoln Wheat Cents are nice to collect, as they are inexpensive on the later dates in BU, being as low as $2 in Mint State grades.

I am a self-proclaimed Morgan dollar "specialist." I don't know nearly as much as many of the Morgan dollar experts here, but I do "specialize" in collecting them.

Her well-circulated dollar is not worth over $25 at the moment. Tell here to keep it for a rainy day to remember her sister.

It certainly has value. At least silver value for the common dates in this condition, and sometimes even more if it's a semi key or key date.
