The convention was a lot of fun this year. I met lots of great people and bought several coins I was looking for. I submitted a competitive exhibit called "Historical figures on coins" There were only 2 exhibits in my category and I won first place. The RCNA medal this year was made in copper and in silver and features the Avro arrow. A copper medal was in every registration package and the silvers ones were available for sale. When I received my ribbon I also got a surprise. I received a silver version of the medal with my name engraved on the reverse. I really like the look of this medal. Here is the ribbon and the medal.

I was there all day Thursday, but left Fri PM because needed at home. Cost me $50 to cancel my Fri night stay. Met lots of old friends there and a couple new ones, but don't think we met. B

Congratulations on your well earned recognition. Was this your first time exhibiting? Exhibit winners this year received a 1oz silver, copper or nickel engraved Avro medal for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. Not surprising given the theme was that the regular convention medals sold out. Now you have a nice matching set! Personal medals whether for a volunteer, speaker or exhibitor are in a special class by themselves and quite scarce. Received a nickel version myself for putting in some time at the admissions table.

@Proof Nut
Thanks for the information on the medals. This was my second time exhibiting. I put something together for the Ottawa show 2 years ago. I am sorry we did to connect at the show. It would have been nice to put a face to the name.
