For those that have been collecting for a long time or buy these things, do you think these rolls were packaged this way by people who wanted to increase the sale price and had access to a rolling machine or were these rolls collected and stored over time? I see where collectors & CRH say they would open the rolls immediately and never save them. Very few collectors say they would put them away for later.

Collectors wouldn't buy this junk in the first place.

I've seen a roll of Mercs with a '16 on one end & a D on the other. Both were unc. The roll sold for 1100

and change. I've little doubt the middle contained garbage. You dont need access to a machine, hand

crimpers are sold seperatly

Shotgun rolls with enticing enders offered on e-bay are for suckers . Do not get yourself hooked with these illicit sellers .

how about cent rolls with a silver dime on the end.. These are hand made and rolled, to sell to someone , period.. If I cleaned out an estate and found rolls with silver dimes on the end, I would open every single roll.. And I can guarantee so would the people selling them..

Its no different then people selling rolls of Morgan dollars, with 2 high grade coins on the ends..Blast white coins on the end, and junk in the middle..

Thanks I see these on ebay and I was wondering how they were made. I haven't bought any myself but they are interesting. I was wondering if they are made today using old paper or were popular years ago and are coming back on the market. I Would open them all if they were mine.

Yep, it's just a marketing ploy to fool people on there. I've look at feedback of those sellers that sell these junk rolls, claimed to be "OBW" rolls. The buyer said they were searched and not OBW.
Errers and Varietys.
