I have in my possession a 2002 Buffalo "nickel" replica that purports to be 1 ounce of pure silver. I bought it at a flea market years ago. It's the exact same one as this ebay listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/2002-Buffalo-Si...ve_W0QQitemZ290242838157QQihZ019QQcategoryZ39489QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247#ebayphotohosting

Does anyone know who mints these coins?

It is impossible to tell. I have several 1oz wheat replicas and I have asked at shows, especially dealers with alot of silver rounds and they all say anyone can produce them.

I'm pretty sure Silvertowne sells those. Dunno if you could tell exactly who minted it but if you're looking for more like it check out their website. They do a lot of that kind of thing.

Well....
There is a 2001 American Buffalo Commemorative that is 1oz. Silver that is a U.S. Minted coin.
But, a 2002 is obviously a "private mint" coin and worth only "bullion" market value. Several companies sell these at pretty high prices........but they aren't worth what they're sold for......I wouldn't be surprised if the Home Shopping Network has sold them from time to time......it's just that kind of thing. They do the same thing with "plating" of silver and gold as well.....

The U.S. Mint's "gold" Buffalo coin (2006,'07, & '08) has "knock offs" out there too..... sold by "private mints" and they're "plated" or ".999 silver", etc. etc. which the U.S. Mint did not do. It's always been a really popular design for the public....hence the various numerous copies out there by private mint companies.
How much did you pay for this coin ?

I paid 10 dollars for it, but that was years ago when silver may have had a lower market value.

Good !.....you got a good deal then !
As mentioned.....there's so many companies who minted these it will remain unknowable who minted it.
But, having paid only $10.00 for 1oz. of silver.....you scored some silver at a profit now !.....Silver is Silver, and has been climbing and will be climbing possibly for a long time.......I say keep it for that reason....

I'm glad you didn't get ripped off buying it "proof" from a coin company !!...
