hi this is probably just from being circulated but it looked weird to me since the other nicks I could see the silver or some color where it got nicked. thanks

@deb1970, the silver-colored metal that you see when the copper plating is scratched is the zinc core. In the case of the two curved marks above the date on this coin, for whatever reason, the metal was gouged without violating the copper plate. I'm not sure how it happened--maybe a firm hand and a ballpoint pen--but in any case it is just damage and this coin is only worth face value.

They are all damaged as you guessed, the silver color you see is the Zinc core,just a spender.

It's all damaged as you guessed. The "silvery" color is actually the Zinc core that got exposed, when the Copper plating got scratched off.

It is PMD, post mint damage. The 'silver' color is actually the zinc core.
