anyone have any input on if this is a 1955 double die obverse?

Not a Doubled Die Obverse. It's the very common Die Deterioration Doubling on your coin. They call it the "Poormans Doubled Die" because it supposed to be the replacement of the real 1955 DDO, but this is actually just Die Deterioration Doubling, caused by extreme die wear, which was very common on the 1955 LWC's, as they would use the dies way past normal retirement. http://www.error-ref.com/die-deteri...on-doubling/

it is DDD, not a doubled die obverse. 1955 is well known for this because they basically used the dies until they broke.
