I work at at financial institution and someone brought
Them in saying that he went to a coin dealer and told
Him they are not worth nothing but the coin does
Not have any other markings .
It was a mystery to me as to why it has it has a letter

Considered a counter stamp. It is virtually impossible to identify a single letter example as to its origin or reason.

Somebody just took a "B" punch and counterstamped the half. May that person's first name was Bobby?

to CCF. As mentioned, it is a counter stamp that someone for some reason punched on it. The only value it has now is the current silver value.
