I'm very new to the coin collecting world so excuse my ignorance if you would. I found a SAC gold dollar with a straight line across the field and I was wondering if this is what you would call a die crack and if so what kind of value does that add?

Glare is hiding every thing we need to see. Reduce the light either by diffusing with a bond paper or lower the wattage of the bulb.
A die crack will be raised on the coin and raised over the "B" on LIBERTY.

If it is a die scratch it will be raised on the coin, but not over the 'B' on LIBERTY.

If the line is incuse (sunk into the coin) on the fields and over the 'B' on LIBERTY, then it is coin damage.

To CCF! If you can get a better picture without glare, that would help.

Thank you for providing additional pictures! It helped a lot What you have here is a scratch on your coin from circulation wear.

So you're saying a scratch from being in someone's pocket? It looks like its raised but it's not running through or over the lettering, it looks like it runs under it?
