I was going through my grandfather's collection to determine values for insurance purposes and came across a handful of foreign coins. I don't have any resources on grading non-U.S. coins, so I would appreciate any grading/valuing thoughts on this gothic florin.

From all that yellow on the obverse, I think at some time this one might have been glued to something (although there also appears to be some on the reverse as well). Would I be safe in guessing that by this point all the damage is done? I would hate for this coin to degrade further from inaction.

Thanks!

Normally that kind of gunk is remnants of tape but it's in the recesses of the coins so I'd say it's glue. It's possible that it could be removed with acetone
