Found this going through some cents. Looks like this one got a bad alloy mix. Looks a little like brass on the top area. Almost goes across the whole face of the coin. I'll have to check again to see if it does. Enjoy !

If that's a Lamination, then it's actually a weird one. My first thought that came into my mine was is it Struck Through Copper Foil Scrap? Either way, that's one heck of a good find!

it is a planchet flaw/ lamination error

Yeah looks like a strip from mid to bottom peeled off, other peeled back a bit. Top part still intact & has different metal alloy color.

The width at the bottom and at the top are the same. What? The upper part folded after the strike? How can I tell? The area where it originally was struck is lower after the strike, then folded over later. This one also looks like a struck through debris issue. Note the lowest area on the rim. If so the weight would be slighly higher. If less than 3.11 grams, the it maybe just a lamination issue.
