I want to be able to post pics of coins I have for grading purposes but am unsure of how to post them in the following way...I've seen people post pics of coins and have them in a big box and then when you click on that box, it gets bigger, making the coins alot easier to see. Now excuse me for not knowing the tech terms there but this is still all new to me. So, how do I do this and please, again I'm new...easy to understand terms are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Hi Poker Mike,

I just learned how to do that myself last night. I joined photobucket.com
1) load your pictures in full size to photobucket. (you can crop on your pc or in the photobucket editing)
2)start your post here that you want to write
3)when you are in your album in photobucket, under each picture there are choices for url, html, img. to post here click on IMG. it should say copied for just a second when you do that.
4)then come back to your post, right click and paste.
then the picture will show up nice and big here.

I hope that was plain enough instructions.

ok, from what I am seeing 800x600 is a 15 inch screen. Mine are set at 1 megabyte file. which is the biggest option they have on photobucket. To be sure, maybe just don't resize or crop on your pc. Just load them to photobucket and do any editing there. Then you can select the 1 megabyte file size as well. Maybe just use this post to practice if you want to. that's what I had to do a few times and then they came out perfect.

was the original picture blurry? in photobucket on the page that says albums/uploads, there is a big square at the top of the page where it say upload from.....my computer, url, mobile phone, email. you choose where you are loading from and right at the bottom of that square there is a little box that says reduce size to: and it has a drop down menu to choose a size from. you can try to leave it 800x600 and post through photobucket just to see if that's big enough for you.

It was a scan originally and when I changed it to 800x600, the pic is blurry. As I reduce it, it gets less blurry. They have no option to "unblur" the pic.

no. can't unblur that I know of. reduce it to whatever you need to to make it clear and then try posting it to see how big it will be and then we will know where to go from there. If worse comes to worse you may have to rescan at higher resolution. But try to post one first so we can see what happens

Here is one in 320x240, which won't let me make that box to enlarge it.

ok, I dont use a scanner but my mother does. she says the following

600 dpi for small coins
for fine details 1200 or 2400.

onnce she scans she resizes in the scanner software and it makes the picture larger but still clear. what kind of scanner are you using?

I'm learning from this post as well, but how do you go about uploading it so that it has the dotted line around the box so that is "supersizes" when you click the picture?
