Not sure if these are MD or PMD. If PMD, any idea what would cause this unique looking Rim damage?

When it comes to coin damage the possibilities are pretty much endless. Hits from something that moved the metal

Second one is a hit. First could be rim Cuds, but look at the outside rim, any contact dimples the pushed the metal perhaps?

#1 definitely has contact dimples. Imagine this indicates PMD versus rim Cuds.

Yep. It's damage. It took a hit, causing the metal to get pushed over.
Errers and Varietys.
