That's a nice gift! Your coin looks darn near uncirculated but the black obverse "toning" really hurts the eye appeal. Experts can do a diluted partial dip and likely improve the appearance but don't try it yourself.

This is a Large Dates, Large Letters variety that is worth several hundred USD in AU condition.

Sorry, not close to uncirculated. Pics are difficult to grade from, but I would think EF-40 tops.

Razor sharp hair detail and eagle feathers. AU for wear in my book. The dark obverse is an issue. Might be ED. AU-53 (possible details) with better photos.
