Question: Why does the errors ( Cracks, chips,..) always happen on the Top left side of the shield. I have seen about 70% on my search with LSC. I do not keep small crack but I happen to see it all the time? Why is on the left? Mint problem? Give me some though Masters

This is a very common issue on the Lincoln Shield Cents. This is the stress (weak) point of the design.

E&V is right. Think of the amount of metal between that point on the shield and the coat on the other side. It forces a lot mor distributed pressure on that "high point" of the designs on both sides.

And if I'm not mistaken, the reverse is actually the hammer portion of the die in the new presses, meaning it is the one in motion more, may get hotter and fail easier.

There is a lot of pressure on the opposite die to form the bust, that the area there snaps like a cracker if you try to bend it. Happens very often on that area. Almost a poof thing to use as a marker as it is so common to happen on the area.
