Sure that's a delam? Looks more like a struck-thru tooth pick...aka Mint assisted error.

Crazyb0, good point! It was labeled as a Lamination error, but maybe it's something else?

See any wood grain texture under the scope of the inside indent? That isn't a true indicator but sometimes the lines of wood fibers show.

I looked at it under a loupe, and it doesn't have the wood grain texture on that area.

Well some toothpicks were sanded very smooth. And, the shape belies a lam, the sides are too regular and symetrical from point all the way across the rim. And the second thing about a struck through wood, it is soft enough that it wouldn't show on other side. I see no effect on reverse or any other signs of planchet flaw/alloy mix problem.

That's interesting for sure Crazyb0. I'll contact Mike Diamond for this one, and see what he thinks. Now that I think about it, it could be something else.

It's a cool coin, but I am also not 100% convinced it is a peeled lamination flaw. If it were, however, the coin should be underweight, whereas a strike-through should be of a normal weight.

I'll get the weight of my coin later. I'll post how much it weighs.

Weight to 1/100 gram would be best (if not better).

As long as my scale has that option, I'll do it. :-)

A lamination usually runs in a straight line. This looks like a struck through to me. Weight will be normal if it is a struck through.

Wear and discoloration precludes a definitive conclusion. It could be a lamination error (lost after the strike) or it could have been struck through a delaminated flake of metal from another planchet.

I don't have that mode on my scale unfortunately. It's weighs 3.1 grams perfectly on the scale. What do you guys think? Can someone please let me know?
