I think this one will make the "coveted" Poor 1 full grade.
It's difficult to find Capped Bust coinage with even wear on both sides: usually, by the time the obverse looks like this, the reverse is slick.

Thoughts?

I might send it in on an ANACS special or a PCGS/NGC freebie, but most likely not. I have quite a few other raw lowballs that need to get sent in with it.

can someone explain why you would submit a P01 to a grading service? is there some benefit to this?

The question might be if it's an 1824 or 1834. It does appear to be an 1834 and is a PO-1 once the date is confirmed. It's a CAC candidate too.

It's the reduced-diameter size so it can't be an 1824. :)

USSID18...thanks for the link. I had no idea of a premium on low-ball coins and I've been collecting for over 50 years. not sure when that happened but I wish I had all the ones I got rid over the years
