I have 25 rolls of uncirculated 62 through 64 pennies. All are still in original paper bank rolls. Most are 62d and 63d . What's the easy way to value thousands of pennies ... all still have a brilliant luster and sheen. That's about all I know being a very new person to coins. Any advice is appreciated.

Well I know the 63 has a double stamp and the 62 has some irregularity that makes it valuable. Not really sure how to value the coins or Exactly what to look for.

You kind of need to get an idea on exactly what you have by opening the rolls and sorting the coins. Once they are in smaller groups, you can do a more detailed search for varities and errors.

Until you know what yer doing, leave them wrapped up. Once you know which direction you take, you can. What are you looking for? Errors? Doubled Dies? RPMs? High grade coins? Do you know how to recognize these four groups? It may take some studying before you leap. I would suggest you first concentrate on coin grading, and quality. Learn proper coin handling FIRST! once the higher grade coins are separated then look for the other aspects. I do one date/mm at a time, less confusing and have your references open to the right spot, no flipping. Study sites like coppercoins.com and varietyvista.com for just doubled dies, or just rpms, have images of what to look for specifically. That way you don't chase ghosts, waste time on that which isn't your goal. But the object is, study LOTS first and don't just jump in willy-nilly, have a prepared plan, and stick to it. And an afterthought. Get yourself a copy of "Looking Through Lincoln Cents" by Charles Daughtrey . Read that, it has the basics of all that I spoke of above. A really great starter book.

With What Crazyb0 said! All I would add to that is wear glove so you don't end up with fingerprints from your skin oils and damage the coins. Hence, proper coin handling

The dates and mints you mentioned are extremely common in BU rolls . Value wise ,maybe $1 a roll . So if your going to break them open go ahead and look for errors and varieties and for get about high grades .

Agree, learn first what the best varieties are for these dates, then open and search them for these as well as errors. Happy hunting! to the CCF!
