The coin looks high Au in sharpness, but your pics show no luster so I woukd be at au50-53 based on what I see. I could go higher if I saw more luster. Your coin looks like it has rim toning typical of a coin that was in a cardboard folder which leached some chemicals (typically a sulfur compound) onto the coin. But the coin was already darkly toned then the coin was placed in the folder. If that is the explanation, it could be original toning but there are a lot of coin doctors out there who know that toned Peace dollars are valuable.

AU and a bit baggy. I don't think that toning adds any value in this grade on a common year. If the OP likes it, that is all that matters, presuming a reasonable price was paid.

Tell us about the luster, please, and if you can show us some straight-on pics.

Need some pics with a light on the coin, will help decide whether the toning is legit.

Looking at this, I will say that it's certainly a most attractive specimen, but without the coin in hand I don't feel confident about offering an opinion as to whether it is uncirculated. to the CCF!

Based on the pics it looks like AU details cleaned. Toning is probably from the cleaning.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I guess the only way to be sure is to take it to someone that can look at it in hand. Thanks again. Feel free to still post your opinions.

It does look like an AU coin with artificial toning. 1922 Peace dollars are basically bullion unless in high uncirculated so $20 or so is where this coin should be valued.

Yeah, based on the pics it kind of has that glossy stripped-of-luster look to it.

From the images provided, looks like an AU coin with highly questionable toning. As with 1921 Morgans, I'm far more comfortable seeing a 'crackled' appearance to the toning.
