Has anyone out there got any advise as to what equip. to use to get good closeups of coins?

Do a web search on "coin photography".
That'll get you started and them you can come back with specific questions.

When you are talking about "closeups", do you mean the whole coin, or zoomed-in to see details of the coin like mintmarks and such?
