Besides the identification, a photographic record is necessary for the reliable documentation of coins. This includes the photography of the coins and the editing of the images to remove the background. This short text describes how this work can be carried out with DigiCam Control, Irfanview, Gimp, ImageMagick and Bimp. In order to edit a large number of images in a short time, various batch methods are described.

Ok! It is written in german, but with a lot of screenshots and a plug-in for automatic cropping, resizig and labelling.

welcome to the forum. this is very interesting. also very well done. I need to start building catalog. like the way you have done this. myself I use capture one. I have everything I need in one program. tethering, editing. and cataloging. again thank you so much.
