I am new to the site and to coin collecting in general. I would like some advice from this on-line community regarding the pictures below.
I found this 1992 penny today and thought it looked very odd? I have searched the internet-and I have never heard of a 1992 with a circle on the lower foot of the A, touching the M? I'm sure this was some drastic error at the mint. I wanted to get advice, if this coin is worth getting graded, since its all beat up. Any all comments would be greatly appreciated.
To CCF! It's unfortunately just a damaged Cent. The Copper plating was pierced, causing the Zinc core to get exposed. Zinc is very corrosive, so when air reaches it, the corrosion process will begin. It will eventually completely corrode into nothing.
