Hi Folks, I have this War Nickel that I need your help with, the pictures are not great but hopefully you can help. Is it cleaned or is it a weak strike. there are some dings but all the letters are sharp. Looking forward to opinions.

I can see some Die Deterioration (die wear) going on both sides, from a worn die issue.

I was thinking that it was plated, because of that shiny look to it.

That would make sense since it appears to be worn on the the high spots. Never thought of that, good point.

Silver polish and a buffer can make War Nickels look like that

There was a time when some marketing companies would get worn and oxidized "steel" cents and gray heavily circulated War Nickels and have them plated or order them as such and put them in framed illustrated boards with WWII wartime themes for wall hangers. Just like some type sets, sometimes the heavily circulated silver coins were highly polished.
The people who sold these sometimes got honest enough to call them "reconditioned".

It appears you have one of these.

Of course this ruined what little value the coins had in the first place, but they looked "pretty" to buyers who knew very little about coins. My father had a couple in his office like this. Polished Indian cents and polished no date Buffalo nickels surrounding some Indian theme print.

Thanks for the responses, I always wondered why this coin was so shiny as opposed to to the grey (dirty) cast circulated War Nickels had.
Rest in Peace
