Will be going on my first coin dig expedition in October ... somewhere in east central England. Group of ten diggers and I am the only rookie. Appreciate comments from any who have done something similar.

No information forthcoming here, except enjoy yourself and have fun. Probably some research in metal detectors would not go astray.

look for the magazine "Silver and Gold", 2008 annual, published by People's Publishing Company in Anselmo, CA, tel 415-454-3936. Interesting 5-page article on page 25: "Getting Hammered in Britain", about metal detecting in Norwich with Jimmy Sierra's Discovery Tours Int'l. Many other articles about metal detecting. I'd love to go on a trip like this! What's it cost?

See also the May 2008 "Worldwide Coins" page 46: "Treasure Finds", in Great Britain, weekend hobbyists search private fileds and public paths for coins buried centuries ago...
