Wow, probably slightly over melt, unless you have two people whom both want it......

Hi....

This is a good site to get an idea as to the value of UK coins.

http://www.tclayton.demon.co.uk/coins.html

For the 1 and 2 pound coins....

Don't ask me what the difference between a normal silver release and a Piedfort is.

well, I found one site that had images so I could be sure I was looking at the right coin and it said they wanted $37 for one and of the others, 2 were asking $45 and another was asking $57 which is quite a bit more that silver weight right now is it not?

So it seems the about average price is around $40. It does say that this design was only to be used for one year so maybe that is why the price is a little higher from the collector's view point. Interesting. Thanks for the links everyone

I find it a disgrace that these fantastic British coins could be considered to be only worth melt value!
Surely, such lovely coins in such fine state as this should always be worth well over melt!
It is only the cheap-tacky cuni pieces that are worth about nominal value

I do agree. I like the idea that the Britannia silver releases come with different reverse designs.
