Hey Guys wondering if I found a 1970 D DDR, cant find anything online about it. I will post some pictures below. Also there are 3 or 4 strange markings on the reverse not sure what they would be unless there strike throughs?

Show me the whole back of the coin, I see evidence of some form of staining in at least two areas. So what it came out of mint packs. These coins may not (and probably weren't) handled with gloves, and are usually picked out of a hopper or container wher coins have contacted each other in their transportation around the mint BEFORE packaging. I have coins, both MS and Proof, that have fingerprints, scratches UNDER the cello (just posted a 5 -step nickel in cello the other day). There are other factors too, coin damage upon ejection from the striking chamber, a mechanical part in the way. or even a coin hitting a machine part. The machines are DIRTY, greasy and dusty (metal dust) where these coins receive a rinse after striking, they move around a lot coming in contact with other coins, edges of transport carts, etc. So what if this coin was in a mint sealed" pack, look up what I posted about a mint sealed 64 proof set and how the sealer seam ran over the half and the micro punctures allowed the sealed envelope and apparent sulfur in the paper to turn them rust brown. It happens, all...the...time. Your coin has damages, from the Mint yes, but not mint errors, Human packing errors perhaps.

It's a good example of Machine Doubling.
