Hi all,

Calling on the experts to let me know if this set is the genuine one or a possible restrike. What I have seen on the internet points to this being the original but would love to have absolute clarity that this is the case.

@mikehy, I assume you already confirmed that they are not attracted to a magnet, right?

Considering that these appear to be proofs, I would certanly understand your hesitance to pop them out of their plastic holders. However, if you are wanting to have more certainty, then consider taking the correct precautions and getting a really good weight measurement and, ideally, elemental breakdown such as by XRF.

Hi Spence,

Many thanks for your prompt response.

Items are non magnetic, weigh 22.2 grams each and XRF gun shows 90.86 silver and balance being copper.

Ok well the weight checks out which is good. However, I'm a bit concerned about the XRF silver balance. It really should be almost exactly 90.00% I think. Did you take multiple readings of the same coin in different spots as well as test all four of these coins? If so, please post all of your data as that might be useful.
