I paid for coffee this morning with halfs. 2 bucks worth and the coffee was 1.78. The lady got so confused and a little frustrated that she couldn't grasp the idea they were 50 cent peices. I just walked away.... but I love paper money but it does cost a lot more in the long run to keep a dollar produced in circulation. A coin unless lost is there for a long time.
