Price seems pretty decent, but the resale potential on such common coins seems limited.

40% half dollars are selling at 4 x face. Little to even negative premium over spot since little demand.

I assume that this item must not be worth it to purchase. If so I'll look elsewhere on ebay

Quote: I know the claim that these are unsearched is baloney If you think they started with a lie why would you want to trust buying anything from them? Seems like wasted money to me. Good call to look elsewhere.

Buy nice coins for your collection as singles, and according to value. Buy junk bullion like this for silver melt, and not any more.

If looking for anything special in it such as a key date or a BU I wouldn't buy it.

Good advice... Where are good places to buy junk silver, I wonder?

First after looking at the ends, you see a hand re-wrap...been searched 4 sure. Then you see two 90% ends....how much 40% is in the middle? My guess is there is 90% of 40%ers. Update this thread when you get them and tell me how close I was Quote: Where are good places to buy junk silver, I wonder? Try your local LCS, he may not be a certified jerk, there are a few good ones. Or even try a jewelry store that may take in estate jewelry, lot of times junk silver is included. My LCS has jugs of quarters and dimes, most is just customer retreads, but he still wants too much over melt!

Try calling around some coin shops and see how many times over face they are charging for junk silver. I am paying 11x face from my junk silver guy, and that includes Walking Liberty halves. He is a long time flea market vendor though, so I only go buy from him on Sundays. I paid 10X face for some Barber dimes recently, at a coin show, but there were a couple stinkers mixed in (a polished coin and a damaged coin).

I'm with most others. That ebay listing is nearly guaranteed to net you more 40% than you would like, so you would probably lose money reselling. It's a good price if it was guaranteed to be all 90%. I agree that LCS and show junk silver bins would be preferable. Still, reselling them quickly will probably be a loss because you are buying at retail. In the event that silver jumps significantly, then it may be okay.

I'm so tired of that UNSEARCHED stuff. Yet people keep on trying it over and over and over.

Errers and Varietys.
