I dont usually look at quarters, I love my LMC. However, this one caught my eye as I was going through a jar of coins. I originally thought " Dryer Coin" but it only reflects one side
What would make the lettering so jumbled? Specifically on the word "United"
Thanks!!

It's a damaged coin. Circulation wear and tear has taken its toll on this Quarter.

I think that's dried up gunk residue in that area on "UNITED". That edge seems to have some battering as well, from circulation wear.

Looks like from the obverse, that area is bent a little bit. It may have taken a hit on the reverse.
