Two Mexican 8 Reales Cob Coins On Ebay - Please Study, Don´t Buy!

coinworldtv Pillar of the Community Austria 566 Posts	Posted 09/16/2018 06:32 am These two are from the same seller, located in the UK and registered with a Chinese Nickname on ebay. I do not want to discriminate against any nationality, location or ethnicity, but these two coins seem to be the product of the looming Chinese forgery industry and were probably hand-finished just a few months ago. The guy is quite frank by saying "Please study the images for your own judgements", so please study those as there are more where these two come from. Report this Post to the Staff

It seemed obviously fake, the wrong colour and the wrong weight. The dealer who bought the lot told me she was surprised I missed it. I might have made a mistake by listing a single gold escudo cob, which was never sold, but taken down immediately after mathieuma (a trusted member of this forum) has informed me back in 2014. After 35,800 listings I might have made also a few description mistakes (not intentionally), but I am selling in general well described and fully genuine material. The slabbed 8 reales cob coin is guaranteed by NGC, if there are any problems with it you can contact them (if you own the coin with the slab) and claim the insurance money (they will pay the price you paid back!). I am just trying to help here, to prevent people from damages just like Mathieu has helped me back in 2014. In my opinion that the listed two cobs you are putting pictures of are not genuine and therefore definitely not gradable by any certification service.
