I would think that many years ago these were used in Canada, particularly in Quebec for kids to learn how to use money.

I had a collection of 5 of these that were very crisp but found I did not have the $5.00 or $50.00 issues.

These are shown on the left of the large collage and also the $100.00 at the bottom.

Today I found a lot of 6 but they are slightly different.
The backs of the $1.00 and $10.00 issues are different. The bottom text on second lot is also printed differently.
However, I did get a $5 and $50 in the lot.

Some have watermarks from the initial lot and perhaps a different stock of paper was used. But I am very happy to have found them all.
The second batch is a little rough but I could not rest until I had at least one of each.

Very nice!
I believe these are still being printed today, mostly by school organizations.
1920 is the year the design was registered, just like monopoly money is dated 1935, unlike monopoly money the copyright for these is in the public domain and you can print them up for whatever purpose.

Thanks DBM and you guys for the nod of approval, I didn't pay very much at all for these. Probably evens out at about a buck and half each at the most shipped.
My second batch looks a bit handled so I would think they have some age. There is a different back for the $1 and $10 too.
The first batch has the more detailed watermarks and coloring. I think they are probably older.
Newer or not, they are not seen in nice condition very often.
I have not seen the $5 or $50 anywhere in the past year until today.
So new or not, my OCD made me buy them and I did get to haggle a little.

Even so, I believe our "real" paper currency is still being printed today too for some odd reason.
