I'm attempting to identify and get some information about these two beautiful copper coins the 1864 has J.B. SMITH stamped into the obverse. Curious who that is or what's the story behind it. Can anyone point me in the right direction or share some information? Thanks

I know nothing about these, but "J.B. Smith" is a counterstamp and was impressed after the coin was made. When, where and what for are the questions...

It would be interesting to see if this one is listed in Brunk (a book I don't have yet). Here's a link to some counterstamped tokens, some of which have a J Smith.
