I'm thinking of moving from flat-staple 2x2s to the self-adhesive 2x2s with the little tabs.

Just think it will be a bit easier to put them into the 2x2s without having to use staples, the seal may be a bit tighter, and I like those little "tabs" that make it easy to pull them out of display pages I have for my 2x2s.

I use albums for most of my coins, but I have lots of "extra coins" that I just keep in 2x2s and then put into pages in 3-ring binders or into 2x2 coin boxes.

I have been looking on WizardCoin site (and a few others), and the two that seem to be some of the nicest are:

SuperSafe Self-Adhesive 2x2s
https://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/pr...d-sizes.html

Lighthouse Matrix Self-Adhesive 2x2s
https://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/li...s-dimes.html

Anyone use either of these 2x2 holders and any experiences with either of them? Pros or Cons?

Or any other recommendations besides the two above.

Thanks.

Michael

Sorry.. are you suggesting that these are not good coin storage options, or that you do not use them?

I use mylar 2x2 or airtites the self adhesives often damage the surfaces of a coin. Depending on the metal composition it causes corrosion, black tarnish, and it often eats away luster for starters. Mylars are cheaper and airtites are best, but most expensive. All of this is just my opinion but can be verified. No offense was intended.

Thanks

GC,

Thanks so much for clarifying further.

For the mylar 2x2s, do you mean just the good old cardboard with the mylar windows that use the "flat cinch staples", or do you mean you put the coins right into the 2x2 pages directly?

And any special brand recommendations?

I do also use the "Air-tites", but typically only for my "better coins".

I was looking for something cheaper/easier for all of my lower and mid-priced coins that I want to keep in 3-ring binders.

Thanks.

Michael

Regards,

Michael

When I refered to mylar 2x2 I was refering to the cardboard window kinds, they seem to work well for me. And I wouldn't reccomend dropping the coins in the pages

It's interesting that I have not really come across the self-adhesive 2x2's either at LCS's or shows. I also haven't noticed any for sale at either. Maybe because they are more expensive than the non-adhesive and 3 or 4 staples? From my experience the self-adhesives have worked great. I purchased a bunch of coins from my neighbour who had put coins in them 40+ years ago. All the coins still looked great.
